Randy timed in seventh quickest in OSAS-East qualifying on Saturday, August 16 to earn the inside fourth row starting spot for the 40-lap main event. However, Mother Nature pushed back the A-Main until Sunday afternoon. Crossville, Tennessee native Randy Weaver went two-for-two in his new Mike Hill-owned #116 GRT ride this past weekend, as "Dream" captured a Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) triumph at the nearby Crossville Raceway USA on Friday, August 8. Randy laid down the quickest lap during the qualifying session and later rolled off from the pole position of the 40-lap A-Main. He later dominated the feature event, lapping up to sixth place, to record the $3,000 payday ahead of Brett Wyatt, Patrick Duggan, Jay Brinkley, and Eric Hickerson. The duo got off to a great start together, as Randy took the checkers in the $4,000 to win Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series main event. After qualifying well in AAPTS time trials and later winning his dash, "Dream" crossed the finish line first in the A-Main ahead of Tommy Kerr, Bobby Giffin, Billy Ogle, Jr., and Joe Armes to record his sixth triumph of '08. The #116 team was in action with the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series last week, as Randy Weaver competed in four of their events in the Volunteer State of Tennessee! Randy had an up-and-down week in his home state, as he recorded a twentieth place finish at the nearby Crossville Raceway USA in Crossville (July 22), a fourth place effort at the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland (July 24), and a twenty-first place performance at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap (July 25). "Dream" then unfortunately failed to make the starting grid for the $5,300 to win series finale at the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell on Saturday, July 26 after experiencing motor issues throughout the night.
